Special Practice Responsibilities
Edward graduated from the University of Auckland School of Medicine
and trained in Haematology at Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals.
Edward has worked with the Auckland Regional Blood Service as an
Immunohaematologist with a special interest in transplant support.
Until recently he continued his involvement with the New Zealand
Blood Service in Auckland as Medical Director of the Tissue Typing
Laboratory. Currently he is the Clinical Director of Haematology at
Diagnostic Medlab and holds a part-time consultant position in
Haematology at Lab Plus, Auckland City Hospital. Edward is also an
Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Auckland School of
Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of
Australasia, a member of the Australasian and South East Asian
Tissue Typing Association, the American Society of
Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, and the Haematology Society
of Australia and New Zealand. He has a broad expertise in the
diagnosis and management of haematological disorders.
