Special Practice Responsibilities
Mee Ling is the Clinical Director of Histology and Cytology at
Diagnostic Medlab. Previously she was a Senior Lecturer in
pathology at the Wellington School of Medicine, University of Otago
and Consultant Anatomical Pathologist, Wellington Hospital. She is
a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. Mee
Ling studied at St. Marks and the Royal Free Hospitals, London,
specialising in intestinal and liver pathology. She was also
trained in fine needle aspiration cytology at the Karolinska
Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. At King's College Hospital, London
and University of California, Los Angeles, she trained in liver
transplant pathology and has extensive research interests,
particularly in intestinal and liver pathology. She was Visiting
Professor to Malaysia in 1994. Mee Ling has held a number of
research grants and has authored or co-authored more than 30
published papers and abstracts. She is a member of the New Zealand
Society of Pathology, past President of the New Zealand Society of
Cytology, and the Auckland Chinese Medical Association, and has
been Pathology Assessor for International Accreditation New
Zealand. Mee Ling is the pathologist for the New Zealand Liver
Transplant Unit.
