Paul is a Clinical Haematologist with a part-time appointment to
the Haematology Unit at Auckland City Hospital. He is a Clinical
Associate Professor, Department of Molecular Medicine, University
of Auckland School of Medicine. Paul has particular expertise in
haemostasis and thrombosis and consults on a wide range of
haematological disorders. He is Director of the Adult Haemophilia
Centre at Auckland City Hospital and maintains an active research
programme in the treatment of venous thromboembolism. He also
directs the Thrombosis Unit at Auckland City Hospital. Paul is a
Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the
Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He is a member of the
International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, a past vice
president of the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis
and a member of the Haematology Society of Australia and New
Zealand. He is also an active member of the American Society for
Haematology. Paul is the current Chairman of the New Zealand
Subcommittee on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, serves on the Medical
Advisory panel of the New Zealand Haemophilia Foundation and the
National Haemophilia Management Group, and is a member of the
Clinical Advisory Board to the New Zealand Blood Service. Paul is a
reviewer for the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and is an
Investigator for a number of international clinical thrombosis
trials. He is currently Chairman of the New Zealand Medical
Association.
