Susan joined the Microbiology Pathology team at Diagnostic Medlab soon after gaining her fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2000. Susan attained her MBChB at Auckland University and then spent her RMO years working on rotation at Auckland City Hospital, Green Lane Hospital and Middlemore Hospital.
Susan's special interests in the Microbiology field include the detection and surveillance of antimicrobial resistance, infectious disease serology and infections during pregnancy. She is a member of the American Society of Microbiology and the Australian Society for Antimicrobials. She is also involved with Pathology tutorials for medical students.
Susan also works as a Pathologist in the Microbiology Department, Middlemore Hospital and is a visiting Pathologist to the three small peripheral Northland DHB laboratories.
