Who We Are
DML has provided highly valued community laboratory services to the greater Auckland region for over 70 years. We operate from a state of the art testing facility in Ellerslie and hold IANZ quality accreditation in all disciplines including our collection centres.
DML also has tertiary (highest) level compliance with the ACC "Workplace Safety Management Programme" (WSMP) and holds Gold Level compliance with the Enviro-Mark® NZ environmental management standard. Since September 2009 a new laboratory has been contracted to provide these services, but we remain in business.
What services does DML now provide?
DHB Funded Services:
We are now contracted to provide fully funded services for:
- Patients referred by Private Specialists, including private fertility testing
- Private Hospitals
- Rest Homes and Aged Care facilities.
National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP):
We remain the largest provider of cervical screening using the validated ThinPrep method. This is fully funded for the testing of cervical cancer and HPV (human papilloma virus).
Non-Government Funded Tests:
DML provides a comprehensive list of non-government funded services:
- Immigration and Visa requirements
- Insurance and pre-employment health checks
- Pre-travel checks and vaccinations
- Travel Medicine clinic
- A consultative haematology service
- Workplace related health checks
- Clinical Trials and Surveys
- Tests ordered by alternative health providers such as Naturopaths
- Non-residents
- Patients who wish to self request tests.
We are still here - with no change in our focus on quality service, clinical excellence and high standards - just in the types of tests we do.
Our staff are committed to a service ethic whereby we aim to maintain the highest standards of professional and technical excellence and adhere to a stringent code of ethical medical practice.
Our Pathologists and staff encourage doctors to contact them for information and advice at any time. We are always available to support doctors in their clinical practice.
Diagnostic Medlab is a member of the Sonic Healthcare group. As such we are able to avail ourselves of a wide range of medical and technical resources in pursuit of our high service standards.
