The New Zealand Blood Service is committed to the development of consistent, national standards covering all aspects of transfusion medicine practice. This requires active collaboration with clinicians and other health care professionals involved in this field.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has published recommendations on the development of National Policies and Guidelines on the clinical use of blood. These recommendations were used as a reference point for NZBS' policy development.
The NZBS Transfusion Guidelines provide a collection of policies, guidelines and other information which health professionals may find useful regarding the collection, distribution and use of blood components and products produced and/or supplied by NZBS.
