PATIENT SELF-REFERRALS
We understand that people want to
be actively involved in their healthcare. Registered Medical
Practitioners are best placed to advise people on appropriate
healthcare including laboratory testing and result interpretation.
They know your medical history and so are able to work with you to
determine what tests or treatment is best suited for you.
However, you are able to visit
one of our collection rooms to self-request a range of blood tests
that do not need approval of a registered health practitioner. You
will need to pay for the tests you request and we will need your
personal details such as name, date of birth and contact details.
Results are posted to you within New Zealand. We do not provide
clinical advice or result interpretation on self-requested
tests.
If you have a referral from a
general practitioner, and you want to have your tests done at DML,
you can access the DML collection centre and testing service. You
will need to pay for your tests. Our collection centre staff can
assist you with details and prices.
